Your On-Location Glam Squad

We recommend prepping for your big day! Although we love makeup and it creates endless possibilities allowing us to conceal our insecurities and enhance our favorite assets- makeup can not change texture. (Scars, bumps, acne, hair, clogged pores, etc). its important to create a plan to have your best skin before the big day, so your makeup glides on smoothly, stays longer, and looks the best it can in person and in photos!

Skin Prep

-Drink plenty of water ; science tells us that a hydrated body can perform at its best & the same holds true for hydrated skin. Drinking plenty of water before the big day will ensure your body is healthy and your skin is happy. Ask a trusted healthcare professional what the ideal amount of daily water intake is best for your body.

If your budget will allow for the following treatments from an esthetician:

-Exfoliate; we recommend microdermabrasion treatments before your big day. Microdermabrasion can help slough off dead skin and allow for a smooth makeup application. Some clients like dermaplaning, which will smooth your skin’s texture by removing dead skin and hairs.

-Facials; many of our clients like to have facials leading up to the big day. facials are an excellent way to maintain your skin’s texture and clarity. consult an esthetician and make a plan to get facials for your specific skin type, texture, and goals at least 6 weeks before and no closer than 1 week before your wedding. Stress related acne can flare up and facials can irritate this. we recommend not having any facials or treatments 7 days or closer to your day.

-Sunburns; We are so fortunate to live in the sunshine state and we love the sun! However, the week leading up to your wedding is not the time to tan. When skin burns, it creates an unrealistic redness under makeup which is both difficult and unflattering to conceal. When skin peels, the texture creates an unflattering appearance under makeup which is difficult to conceal and apply makeup on top of.

-Faux Tans; If you would like to rock a bronzed glow on the big day , we recommend using a faux tan and doing a trial run of your faux tan at least a month beforehand. this way, you can test out the provider, the solution color and chemical reaction to your skin, and the durability. We have seen some beautiful tans that do not transfer and look great under makeup, but we have also seen some very unflattering tans that transfer on dresses and look unrealistic under makeup. IF you are planning to do a trial run, it’s a smart decision to plan your faux tan application a couple days beforehand to get an idea of what it will look like on the day of your wedding!

Brow Prep

If you are shaping your brows by waxing or threading, we recommend doing so no later than 7 days prior to your big day. unfortunately, clients have been burned by wax and scarred right before the day of their wedding! If you are using any type of Retin-A or Retinol products, make sure to tell your service provider when you are getting your brows maintained. Unfortunately, when this happens, airbrush is our only way to conceal the damage and although it looks great in photos- you can still see texture in person. Makeup does not hold up on open wounds/ scrapes/ scabs. Please be very careful when maintaining your eyebrows close to the day of your wedding!

Cosmetic Fillers/Tatoos/SX

If you are planning to do any type of dermal fillers, tattoos, or cosmetic surgery on your face prior to your wedding day, we recommend doing so 6 months to a year beforehand.

HAIR

-Prep; The best way to prep your hair for a trial run and on the day of your wedding is to wash, prep with a mousse, and blow dry it out! If you are planning to have a rehearsal the evening beforehand, we recommend getting a blow out (request some mousse be used) and then you will look great for your rehearsal dinner and your hair will hold up and be ready to be styled on the morning of the wedding.

-Dye; Contrast in hairs, make any style come to life and we’re big fans of texture and contrast in bridal styles! IF you are planning to add any highlights, lowlights, or balayage to your hair- it makes sense to do so before your trial. A dark hair style with and without contrast will look very different. If you have hair that is one color and you do not plan to add any dimension- check out hair styles on your specific hair color to get an idea of what it will look like before your trial.

-Cut; Brides who like face framing hairs and like to have some pieces around their face to create a softer look need to have shorter front layers already cut by their stylist who does their cut/color. If your hair is too long around your face, it will not be flattering to your style (think two octopus tentacles :p) We can not cut your hair at your trial run or on the day of your wedding.

- Extensions; Extensions are always a good idea to add length, volume, and an overall wow factor to your style! We love working with extensions. If you don’t have extensions that are installed, we recommend and will only work with human hair clip in extensions. There is no additional charge to work with extensions for our brides. Maids/family styling with extensions is +$30

-Wigs; Occasionally clients want us to style their wig. We must be notified ahead of time and a trial run must be done beforehand.

- Clips; Bridal clips are very trendy and absolutely beautiful! We love working with bridal clips. We recommend buying clips that are durable and bendable.

-Florals; Whether you want your flower girls to have a touch of baby’s breathe or you want to rock a palm leaf on your head, we’ve got you covered! We love to work with floral designs in your hair style. We recommend having your florist design your floral hairpiece and placing a hair clip in the design, so it’s more durable.

- Veils; We are happy to place and pin your veil, or we can show your MOH or MOB how to! We recommend using a veil that has an attached hair clip that is bendable and durable.
